Nikola Meeuwsen Wins the Queen Elisabeth Competition
Nikola Meeuwsen, a participant of the International Chamber Classics Festival (ICCF), has won first prize at the 2025 Queen Elisabeth Competition for Piano, one of the world’s most prestigious classical music competitions.
The 21st piano edition of the competition concluded in Belgium, where the finalists performed with the Brussels Philharmonic under the baton of Kazushi Ono. At just 21 years old, the Dutch pianist impressed both the jury and the audience with his musical maturity and artistic depth.
As the winner, Meeuwsen received the grand prize of €25,000, along with several solo recital engagements and an international concert tour in Asia and Brazil together with the Second Laureate.
Nikola Meeuwsen’s success at the Queen Elisabeth Competition marks an important milestone in his rapidly developing career and is a point of pride for the ICCF community, where he has previously appeared as a festival participant.
