José Navarro-Silberstein Advances to the Semi-Finals of the 7th Hong Kong International Piano Competition
José Navarro-Silberstein, former student of the Chamber Classics Festival, advanced to the semi-finals of the 7th Hong Kong International Piano Competition (2025), confirming his growing presence on the international piano scene.
Navarro-Silberstein appeared as Semi-Finalist No. 7, presenting a recital on 2 October 2025 at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. He was selected among 16 semi-finalists from an international field in one of Asia’s most respected piano competitions, organized by the Chopin Society of Hong Kong.
His semi-final recital demonstrated stylistic breadth and artistic maturity, featuring works by C.P.E. Bach, Frédéric Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt, and Robert Schumann. The programme included Bach’s Fantasy in F-sharp minor, Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 32 No. 1, Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 90, Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 9, and selections from Schumann’s Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6.
A young Bolivian pianist with an expanding international profile, José Navarro-Silberstein is known for performances across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, as well as for his debut CD. His success at the Hong Kong International Piano Competition marks an important milestone in his artistic development and reflects the high level of preparation fostered during his studies and participance in the Chamber Classics Festival.
