International Chamber Classics Festival 2026 Returns to Belgium with a Celebration of Chamber Music
Following the success of its inaugural edition, the International Chamber Classics Festival (ICCF) will return to Belgium in 2026, reaffirming its mission to unite outstanding young musicians and distinguished international pedagogues in a vibrant celebration of chamber music.
Organized by CMDI Group in collaboration with the renowned Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, the festival has quickly established itself as an inspiring platform where artistic excellence, education, and performance converge.
The 2026 edition will take place from 28 April to 1 May, with events hosted at two prestigious Belgian institutions: the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo and the Musica Mundi School. Over the course of four intensive days, participants and audiences will experience a dynamic programme combining masterclasses, artistic collaboration, and public concerts dedicated to the richness and expressive power of chamber music.
At the heart of the festival lies a strong educational vision. ICCF seeks to create meaningful dialogue between generations of musicians by giving young performers the opportunity to study closely with leading international artists. Through intensive masterclasses and collaborative rehearsals, participants are encouraged to refine their technique, deepen their interpretative understanding, and develop their artistic voice in an environment that values mentorship and creative exchange.
The distinguished faculty for the 2026 edition includes several internationally acclaimed performers and educators. Among them are celebrated Italian pianists Enrico Pace and Giuliano Mazzoccante, German cellist Claudio Bohórquez, Belgian violinist Yossif Ivanov, Romanian violist Mihai Cocea, and American violist Matthew McDowell. Each of these musicians brings extensive international performing experience together with a strong commitment to pedagogy, ensuring a stimulating and high-level learning environment for the festival’s participants.
Alongside the educational activities, the festival will present a series of public concerts highlighting the collaborative spirit of chamber music. These performances will feature the festival professors performing together in carefully curated programmes, offering audiences the chance to experience chamber repertoire in an intimate and inspiring setting. One of the distinctive features of ICCF is that the most accomplished students of the festival will also have the opportunity to join their professors on stage, giving them valuable professional exposure and allowing audiences to witness the next generation of musicians emerging alongside established artists.
By combining world-class artistry with a strong educational mission, the International Chamber Classics Festival aims to nurture the future of classical music while celebrating the enduring beauty of chamber repertoire. With its inspiring venues, distinguished faculty, and international cohort of young musicians, the International Chamber Classics Festival 2026 promises to offer a unique musical experience where learning, collaboration, and performance come together at the highest artistic level.
