International Chamber Classics Festival 2025: Venues Announced
Full details for the International Chamber Classics Festival venues have been officially announced! ICCF will debut in May 2025 in Brussels, featuring distinguished masterclasses and mesmerising concerts by renowned soloists.
Organised by the CMDI (Classical Music Development Initiative) Group in collaboration with the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel of Brussels, the International Chamber Classics Festival (ICCF), helmed by Artistic Director David Abrahamyan, is all set to debut in the charming capital of Brussels, Belgium, in May 2025. The illustrious affair promises a week-long celebration of chamber music featuring world-class masterclasses led by renowned professors and stunning evening concerts featuring a lineup of outstanding soloists.
An inspiring combination of education and performative art, ICCF will be held at two intimate locations in the vibrant Belgian capital: Mundi School and the Protestant Church.
Masterclasses will take place at Musica Mundi School (MMS), an all-Steinway School and a Cambridge-certified International School, which serves as a primary and secondary boarding academy for young talent. It provides gifted students with rigorous, professional musical tuition, introducing them to different cultures and artistic perspectives while helping them gain an in-depth understanding of the myriad facets of classical music in a supportive environment exuding mutual respect and discussion. The three-storey building, featuring classical architecture, is well-suited to accommodate ICCF students with its many rooms, dining areas, and communal spaces.
The venue for concert experiences will be the beautiful Royal Chapel at Brussels Protestant Church, constructed in 1760 by architect Jean Faulte and inspired by the chapel at the Palace of Versailles. Showcasing the great classical tradition of French architecture, it is furnished with cream-coloured aisles surmounted by galleries, presenting a superimposition of columns with Ionic and Corinthian capitals. It was here, once or twice a month, that King Leopold I attended mass, as did the princes of the family of Orange before him. The palatial building decked out in rosettes, putty, and rocaille-style elements serves as the perfect backdrop for a series of dramatic chamber music concerts.
Designed for both aspiring artists and chamber music aficionados, ICCF strives to create an exciting and collaborative environment from May 9 to 13, 2025, featuring classes and performances by acclaimed musicians such as David Abrahamyan (Spain), Claudio Bohorquez (Germany), Yossif Ivanov (Bulgaria) and Enrico Pace (Italy). Don’t miss out; registrations are now open, so apply now to experience exceptional live chamber music in the heart of Brussels!
