Born in Asturias, Spain, Ignacio is a talented violinist with a strong foundation in the world of chamber music.
His early violin studies were guided by his main teacher, Hrachya Abrahamyan and Alexander Vasiliev. Supported by the “Prince of Asturias” Foundation, he trained with members of the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra, including Oleg Lev and Amayak Dourgaryan.
Currently, Ignacio serves as the leader of the second violin section at the Belgian National Orchestra, after holding the same position at the Philharmonie Südwestfalen in Germany, under the baton of Nabil Shehata. He is also a member of the “Ensemble Reflektor,” performing regularly at festivals in Germany, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, and at prestigious venues like the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Alte Oper Frankfurt.
Alongside his professional commitments, Ignacio continues his soloist training with the renowned violinist Boris Belkin, whom he considers his mentor.
Ignacio has performed with renowned musicians such as Andrei Ionita, Naoko Sonoda, Tobias Feldmann, and Nabil Shehata, and appears in chamber music concerts across Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. He has received accolades such as the Caja Rural-CONSMUPA award for chamber music and the Arnuero Chamber Music Competition.
He has refined his musical skills under the guidance of distinguished musicians, including Boris Brovtsyn, Noah Bendix-Balgley Roberto Gonzalez-Monjas, Liviu Prunaru, Jean Bernard Pommier, Alexander Chaushian, and Giorgi Dimchevsky, Natalia Lomeiko, among others.
Previously, he was the second concertmaster of the Orquesta Clásica Santa Cecilia in Madrid and has collaborated with ensembles like the Staatskapelle Berlin, Orquesta del Palau de Les Arts in Valencia, the Orquesta Nacional de España, and the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. As a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester since 2018, he has worked with esteemed conductors such as Vladimir Jurowsky, Jonathan Nott, and Herbert Blomstedt, performing at major European venues.
Passionate about chamber music, Ignacio has participated in festivals like the Hilchenbach Kammermusikfest, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festspiele, and the Festival Piano Prestige in France, sharing the stage with distinguished artists. He also founded his own string quartet, which will perform mainly in Belgium during this season. His dedication to both education and performance has established him as a rising figure in the musical world.
