David Abrahamyan Grigoryan began his musical education with Oleg Lev, a solo member of the Moscow Virtuosi. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Maastricht Conservatory under Henk Guittart (a member of the Schoenberg Quartet) and Boris Belkin, graduating cum laude with distinction, and obtained his Master’s degree in Music.
In 2006, he received a scholarship to study at both the Juilliard School of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, where he trained under Tobby Apple and Pantika Kopec. Mr. Abrahamyan further honed his musical education with prominent musicians such as Tabea Zimmermann at the Hanns Eisler School in Berlin (2006), Antoine Tamestit in Paris (2007), Yuri Bashmet at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena (2008), and Diemut Poppen in Detmold (2009).
From a young age, he collaborated with prestigious ensembles and orchestras, including the Luxembourg Philharmonic, OSPA in Oviedo, Spain, and Lagen Laden in Brussels, where he served as principal viola. He also performed with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists under the artistic direction of Lavard Skou Larsen.
Mr. Abrahamyan has performed under the baton of renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Bernard Haitink, Roberto Benzi, Jesús López Cobos, and Plácido Domingo, among many others.
As a soloist, he has performed works such as Telemann’s Concerto, Christian Bach’s Concerto, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 6, Hindemith’s Trauermusik, Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, and Bruch’s Double Concerto.
From 2005 to 2009, he founded and served as artistic director of the "Musical Improvement" masterclasses in Felechosa (Asturias, Spain), inviting distinguished professors such as Dora Schwarzberg, Liviu Prunaru, Alexander Chaushyan, Ashley Wass, Wolfgang Meyer, Günter Pichler, Gustav Rivinius, Mikhail Kopelman, and Boris Belkin.
He has performed chamber music alongside renowned musicians such as Boris Belkin, Alba Ventura, Daishin Kashimoto, Boris Andrianov, Diemut Poppen, Alina Pogostkina, Boris Brovtsyn, Levon Chilingirian, Yuri Zhislin, David Cohen, Ashley Wass, Andrei Baranov, Alexander Chaushian, Liviu Prunaru, Wolfgang Meyer, Ilya Gringolts, Maxim Rysanov, and Natalia Lomeiko, among others. His performances have graced prestigious venues, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires, Mozarteum Salzburg, KKL Lucerne, Royal Festival Hall in London, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Sala São Paulo in São Paulo, and Teatro Manzoni in Bologna.
